AbouT the Retirement Fund
The Travis County ESD #6 Firefighters’ Relief and Retirement Fund was established to provide retirement security for firefighters serving Travis County Emergency Services District No. 6.
Operating under the authority of the Texas Local Fire Fighters’ Retirement Act (TLFFRA), the plan provides retirement, disability, and survivor benefits for eligible members. The retirement fund is governed by a Board of Trustees who act as fiduciaries responsible for protecting the financial health of the plan and ensuring benefits are administered in accordance with state law.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees provides oversight and governance for the retirement fund and is responsible for establishing pension policies, monitoring plan performance and investments, ensuring compliance with the Texas Local Fire Fighters’ Retirement Act (TLFFRA), reviewing financial reports and actuarial valuations, and acting in the best interests of plan members and beneficiaries.

administration and oversight of the pension system.
These providers assist with actuarial analysis, auditing, investment management,
legal compliance, and plan administration.






Retirement Fund History
The Travis County ESD #6 Firefighters’ Relief and Retirement Fund was created to support firefighters serving
the Lake Travis and western Travis County communities.
The retirement system was established under the Texas Local Fire Fighters’ Retirement Act (TLFFRA), which
provides the legal structure for firefighter pension systems across Texas.
Through the oversight of the Board of Trustees and professional service providers, the plan continues to provide
retirement security for firefighters who dedicate their careers to public safety.
