Sharon Smith serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Lake Travis Fire Rescue (LTFR), a role she has held since March 2021 after joining the organization in January 2016. In her position, Sharon oversees all financial operations for the department, ensuring fiscal responsibility, strategic planning, and long-term financial stability. She also leads logistics and fleet maintenance operations, supporting the efficiency and readiness of the department’s resources.

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Houston – Clear Lake and began her career in public accounting with Deloitte in Houston. After relocating to Austin, she continued to build her expertise with Maxwell Locke & Ritter LLC and the State Bar of Texas, where she spent six years with each organization.

In addition to her financial leadership, Sharon manages a $60 million capital improvement program, which includes the development of a logistics warehouse, training facility, fleet maintenance facility, and five fire stations. Her work plays a critical role in supporting the continued growth and operational excellence of Lake Travis Fire Rescue.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Sharon enjoys spending time with her two daughters and extended family.
